We can't say enough wonderful things about the curriculum and staff at Harbon. Our children both attend (one in the preschool program and one in the kindergarten program) and both love going to school every day! They are always challenged to learn, grow, and ask questions and are able to learn at their own pace which is an exciting concept as a parent. When they master a skill, they are able to take on harder work (which my daughter loves to call her “heavy” work) – and when stuff is challenging, she is able to spend more time to understand the full concepts. Every day and every week is something new, and from the science fair, to the music concerts, to sculpting and nature walks – every subject is explored.

Our daughter has been enrolled here for about a year in their preschool program. The staff have been kind and thoughtful. Our daughter hated her number books, but when we told the teacher about it she was able to sit and give her some extra attention so that the experience was no longer negative. The price seems reasonable, not much more than an in-home daycare, and the learning experience has been much better than daycare can provide.

Our daughter started at Harbon around age 3 1/2, and will be more than prepared for Kindergarten in the fall. She has learned her numbers and letters, she keeps the family informed about geography and science, and most importantly she has made friends. She also has practice waiting her turn, sharing, moving on to the next task when it's time to, and using her free time for her own projects, when she has it. She informs us that when she grows up, she is going to be a teacher at Harbon.

We had our son in 2 preschools prior to finding Harbon. Our son was having trouble with all the chaos that took place at the first two places but as soon as he started at Harbon, everything clicked for him. The children were just like him, things were organized and he was being challenged on a daily basis. HE couldn't wait to go to school and we were relieved. I can't say enough about the teachers, the facility and Hal who runs the program. If you're looking for a place for your child that feels like a family, this is your place!

My kids have been going to Harbon for years (preschool, grade school and now latchkey). The teachers are thoughtful and caring. The lesson plans are thorough. Summer programs are fun and the learning continue. We highly recommend this school.
